Obituary for Marian Elaine Jensen (Nielsen)

Marian E. Jensen, aged 89, passed away September 12,2015. She was born June 30,1926 in Coral, Michigan. She was the daughter of Nelse Peter & Marie(Hansen) Nielsen. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1944 and was employed with lhling Brothers Everard Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1992. Marian was preceded in death by her husband Leonard A. Jensen on December 13, 2006, her parents, 3 brothers Ralph, Stuart & Maurice Nielsen, 3 sisters Frances Wilcox, Myra Miyagawa & Grace Robinson. She is survived by her sister Bernice Stajdl (Frank), her daughter Gloria Merrill and a step-son Leonard Jensen Jr. (Joyce), five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Marian enjoyed reading, traveling, watching the tigers ballgames and all of her grandchildren. She attended St. Andrews Church and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary & an Associate Life member of the 57th. Bomb Wing Association. Cremation has taken place and by her request there will be no visitation or memorial service. lnternment will be by her husband Leonard's side, at Ft. Custer National Cemetery on Thursday Sept. 17, 2015 at 2pm service officiated by Rev. Jim Dyke. Please go to her web page to leave a message at www.avinkcremation.com.
