Ord Cox Edwards, age 95, passed away on March 14, 2016, at Park Place Assisted Living Center, under the excellent care of the staff and of Hospice of Southwest Michigan. Prior to residing at Park Place, he and his wife, Joyce of 74 years, lived many years in Schoolcraft as well as the Marcellus area. He was born in 1921 in Morocco, Indiana. In 1941, he married Joyce F. Drake. Ord was a long-time farmer in the Schoolcraft area and a member of the Grange as well as the Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, who resides at Park Place Assisted Living Center. Also surviving Ord are his daughters, Honey Handy of Portage and Joan Edwards of Schoolcraft; grandson, Mike Axtell of Portage, granddaughter Debbie (Brad) Gillaspie of Schoolcraft, and great-grandsons Brady and Cody Gillaspie of Schoolcraft. Ord was preceded in death by his parents, Ella and Albert Edwards; son, Lee Edwards, and a brother, Max Edwards. Cremation has taken place. There will be no services at this time.
