The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Porter can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Lois Emaar
Condolence: DIck and Carolyn lived across the street from me for many years. Our kids played together in the neighborhood. Dick used to plow my driveway for me while I was at work. I'd come home after a long day, and there would be my cleared driveway to greet me. I appreciated this more than I ever told him. I am saddened to hear of Dick's passing. To Carolyn, Johnine, and Ross, I am so sorry for your loss.
With sincere sympathy and love,
Dale and Lois

Condolence: I only met "Uncle Dickey" a couple times such as when we went to Kalamazoo to bury my Uncle David's ashes. He was always friendly and greeted my grandpa, Howard Ralph Porter, with a "hello young man." He will be missed.

Condolence: Dick and I both used to work part-time for my Dad, in those days he drove a Milk Tanker Truck for Kool Farm Dairy. Dick had a great sense of humor as we were always clowning around, I think he used to date my sister back then. I remember when Dick bought one of the first Chevy Corvairs, it was a pretty neat little car and he always kept it looking good. I'm sure you will be missed my old Friend.

Condolence From: Rose Lockwood Moore
Condolence: I have many memories of growing up with Dickie. When I was quite small he fished me out of Austin Lake after I fell in. He would give us little ones rides in the wheel barrow and helped me start my first garden.A favorite memory is of the time he helped Donna, my sister, and I build a snow horse. As a finishing touch, he used a discarded toilet seat as a collar for the horse. My mom, his Aunt Mary, rolled her eyes at that one. You will be missed, Dickie. Our prayers for you as you return to our heavenly Father.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Dick. I first met him over 15 years ago at a Porter family event with my wife, Rose Lockwood Moore, who is a first cousin to Dick. I had the pleasure of meeting him again a few years ago at another family outing in Michigan. He was always upbeat and enjoyed talking to people. He will be greatly missed.
