Condolence From: Marijke Guerin

Condolence: While working for the Battle Creek Symphony I had the pleasure of meeting Gaston. He was a thoroughly competent violinist and I enjoyed talking with him at intermission time during the rehearsals. He commented on my last name, a French one, and we would converse in French from time to time, with him kindly correcting me when I made a mistake, for which I was very grateful! He will be fondly remembered by me.

Condolence From: Laurie LeClear

Condolence: I met Zozo at Wynwood of Portage when my father, Marv, became a resident there. As a former French teacher, I loved talking with Zozo when I visited my Dad and was so HONORED when he invited us to his room to play his violin for us. Although he was a bit "rusty," the music he played at 99 years of age brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful man with a true joie de vivre.

Condolence: Gaston was a cherished violinist with the Battle Creek Symphony when I was conductor. He was not only highly competent technically, but he always was a perfect gentleman in his relationships with me and the other players. I am deeply grateful that he chose to play with us.
