Obituary for Iva M. Wood (Field)

Wood, Iva M. 3/5/1926 - 8/16/2016 Kalamazoo Loving mother and grandmother. Passed away on August 16th at age 90. Iva was born in Glenn, Mi, the daughter of Bert and Mamie Field. She lived in the Kalamazoo area her entire life. In 1960, Iva married Roy Wood Jr and together they owned and operated Wood's Van Lines. Iva was also a bookkeeper and worked for several local companies. Iva loved baking and was known to have perfected the chocolate chip cookie which she readily shared with friends, neighbors and many others. She was an avid reader and could often be found reading several books at once. She loved children and hanging out with her grandsons. Iva also enjoyed a good game of baseball and college football. Iva is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Gregg) Robertson, son Bill (Amy) Wood, three grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Wood and Wyatt Robertson and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband Roy Wood Jr. and ten siblings, Laura, Eldon, Lloyd, Mae, Lenore, Bert, Rex, Kenneth, Evelyn and Harold. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 8/23 at 11am at Greenwood Reformed Church, 1815 Winton Ave. in Kalamazoo. Visitation with the family will begin at 10am and a luncheon will follow the service.
