Ruth Jane (Gustin) Medler, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2016, while living in Grand Rapids, MI.
Ruth was born March 16, 1924 in La Grange, IL. A city girl with a love of baseball, fell for country boy who convinced her to retire to rural lake living. She enjoyed raising her children, spending time with family, and was well known for her pies and delicious homemade meals from scratch. As an active member of her church she volunteered countless hours sharing her love of Christ.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Joseph on April 3, 2007. She is survived by her daughters Nancy Taylor and her husband Richard of Savannah, GA and Deb Donkersloot and her husband Allen of Brandon, SD. In addition, there are 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at Bangor Church of Christ, 214 N Walnut St, Bangor, MI 49013 at 2PM on Sunday, October 16, 2016. In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Bangor Church of Christ or Emmanuel Hospice.
Ruth will be missed dearly, but remembered for her loving spirit, strong willed personality, and her dedication to God and her family.
