More than a Godmother

Aunt Jan,

From the day I was born, until the final day we were together, you always knew just what I needed to carry on. A simple smile. A warm embrace. A swift but loving word/words of encouragement. To try and put all of the years of memories we share into one post, I would probably crash the computer. From days spent at the beach, riding the waves of the mighty St. Joe river fishing, ringing bells together at Fenton First Presbyterian, watching movies past our bedtime, playing cards, the list goes on and on. Hearing your laugh and feeling the “Love and Sunshine” each and every time we talk will be with me for a lifetime. Even when you may have been a bit upset with me, you never stopped loving me and I will forever be grateful. Hearing your voice when I know I screwed up, “Cameron John” I knew I was in deep ****, but you always made sure I learned from my mistake and grew from them. I look back at everything we have shared together and I hope I have made you proud over the years. You have left such a wonderful mark on not only my life but everyone you have encountered. You made sure we all knew how important we were to you. When Ashlynd was born, you made sure she knew what “Love and Sunshine” really means too. Each night as we get ready for bed, she looks at her “Aunt Jan prayer Bear” and talks to her and prays with her. When I get ready to leave for the day, the diaper bag you got here puts a smile on my face. When the sun shines in her room, the Guardian Angel crystal you got her shines a beautiful rainbow on the floor. Each little moment of time is a constant reminder of how much love you surrounded us with. Ashlynd now tells us “be shhhh, Ashlynd is talking with Aunt Jan and Jesus up in Heaven. They are together with God. Aunt Jan’s booboo’s are all better now.”
Your booboo’s are all better now and we are so happy for that. We know that you are watching over us all and surrounding us with our forever Love and Sunshine. You have been more than a Godmother to me and now you are our Guardian Angel. We miss you and love you oh so much!

Love and Sunshine right back at you.
