Teresa Marie Hinds of Comstock, MI passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 25, 2017 after facing health challenges for the past few years. She was 56 years old.
She was born in Mount Pleasant, MI on November 2, 1960 to Herbert and Janet Hinds. Teresa graduated from Comstock High School in June of 1978. Teresa enjoyed the outdoors, always working in her garden and in many of the greenhouses around Comstock. She was very kind and compassionate towards animals and frequently opened her home to pets without homes. Her generous heart and loving spirit was evident in how she treated others. She will be dearly missed.
Teresa was preceded in death by Fredrick and Mary Hinds of Saginaw, MI and Fredrick and Marian Inman of Saginaw, MI. Teresa leaves behind her partner of 22 years, Scott Holt; her loving son David Nelson and his wife Monica of Fort Myers, FL; her loving daughter Danielle Nelson and husband Leonard Rupe of Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren Brayden and Grayce Nelson (David), Arron Alvarado and Leonard Rupe Jr. (Danielle); father Herbert Hinds of Sun City West, AZ; mother Janet Lewis and Stepfather Dave Lewis of Leonidas, MI; stepmother Diane Hinds of Chandler, AZ; brother Tom Hinds of Elk Hart, IN; sister Barbara Hinds of Allegan, MI; stepsister Kimberly Larsen (Dave) of Mendon, MI; nephew Jordan Hinds (Tom) of Gull Lake, MI; niece Caiti (Tom) of Kalamazoo, MI; nephew Jacob Larsen (Kim) of Mendon, MI and niece Monica Larsen (Kim) of Mendon, MI.
Visitation will be at noon, followed by a memorial ceremony at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 30 at Kalamazoo Covenant Church (5708 East Main Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49048). The memorial service will be officiated by Mr. Andy Holt.
