Obituary for Sharon Sue "Sherri" Tucker (Ruse)

Sharon Sue “Sherri” Tucker , 70

Sharon Sue “Sherri” Tucker, lifelong resident of Kalamazoo Michigan, went home to be with the Lord October 18th 2017. Born May 30th, 1947, Sherri was the youngest of four daughters born to the late Kleetis F. and Anna L. Ruse. Sisters Betty Blum, Nancy Flipse and Judy DeBoer survive.
Sherri was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sherri was married for over 50 years to the love of her life, Thomas E Tucker, who also survives.
Sherri’s energy and enthusiasm will be remembered as she played an integral role in the establishment of the Eastwood Girl’s Little League, was director of Youth Bowling for the Kalamazoo area, and Girl Scout Leader.
She was often seen clowning around Kalamazoo area hospitals as part of the Clowns for Christ ministry. She was employed by McDonalds as Kalamazoo public relations director, was co-owner of Coffee, Etc. and worked for an insurance brokerage firm SDMG.
Sherri enjoyed fishing, traveling, outdoor activities, and took several cruise ship voyages with her beloved husband, Tom.
An accomplished crafter, she made over 100 quilts for friends and family. Christmas Eve “Grammie Jammies” were the highlight of each child, grandchild and great-grandchild. Months were spent in preparation, as Sherri carefully selected just the right fabric for each pair of PJ’s she lovingly sewed. Her family was the biggest love of her life. She was survived by daughter, Joice Gail and son Jeffery Thomas “Jeff” Tucker, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. One grandson Easton David Thomas Tucker preceded her in death.
Blessings, deep appreciation and gratitude go to Heartland Hospice of Kalamazoo for the loving palliative care, which made a difficult time so much easier for the family. We thank you for being in our lives. We would like to express our gratitude to Pastor Scott for his spiritual leadership.
There will be a celebration of Sherri’s life and memorial at a later date.

“And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever ”
