The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mary Dowty can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Troy Tylor

What was a day like in her classroom in Constantine? Shearing Sheep, Carding wool, and spinning. Making salt maps, chalk drawings. She was a Die Hard Michigan History Buff. For fun while giving her lectures every time she referenced a road i.e. " this is I-94" we would call out BINGO.... Sometimes BINGO got us sent to the Hall Way.... Many Memories and stories, if you mention Gov. John S. Barry, you better have the rest of your day clear because you was about to be schooled. She had a captive story on trying to come home from a vacation in Canada and stuck in the Detroit Riots. If you paid attention you earned Dowty Money to redeem for goodies. I grew up ad a neighbor of her mother Bernice, and spent many summers taking care of her lawn work. again, lots of memories.....
