Condolence: Was very sorry to hear of Mrs. Dowtys' passing. She was my Michigan History teacher in 1970 at Constantine MS. She made history fun. Oh my goodness, what a full life she lived.

Condolence: What was a day like in her classroom in Constantine? Shearing Sheep, Carding wool, and spinning. Making salt maps, chalk drawings. She was a Die Hard Michigan History Buff. For fun while giving her lectures every time she referenced a road i.e. " this is I-94" we would call out BINGO.... Sometimes BINGO got us sent to the Hall Way.... Many Memories and stories, if you mention Gov. John S. Barry, you better have the rest of your day clear because you was about to be schooled. She had a captive story on trying to come home from a vacation in Canada and stuck in the Detroit Riots. If you paid attention you earned Dowty Money to redeem for goodies. I grew up ad a neighbor of her mother Bernice, and spent many summers taking care of her lawn work. again, lots of memories.....
