Marvin L. Dage 7/22/1939-1/18/2018 Schoolcraft
Marv died suddenly and peacefully January 18, 2018 at age 78.
Marv was born in Morris,MN the eldest of 8 children of Gilbert Lee and Esther(Uphoff)Dage.
Marv was preceded in death by both his parents and his brother Dale.
Marv married Nancy Therese Wrona on January 20, 1962 and spent almost 56 years together.
Marv started working in construction after high school, then worked in woodworking until shortly after his marriage when he was introduced to the mold making industry as a mold polisher by his father-in-law,Louis, a mold maker. After their second child was born Marv and Nancy moved to Michigan to raise their children in a more rural community. After a few years in Portage,MI, they purchased a small farm in Schoolcraft, MI and have called this home since 1974.He worked for the Molitor family for 38 years in two shops before he retired in January,2007. Marv had a passion for cars and spent many weekends in the summer attending car shows. He appreciated all the classics but blue Chevy Impalas were his favorite.
Marv also enjoyed woodworking and spent many hours in his workshop at home making projects for friends and family. Marv enjoyed spending time with his children and grand children, whether it was coaching little league teams or helping with 4H projects, he was always involved. He loved taking them fishing and having a cookout or campfire in the evening. He loved animals and always had a barn and house full. He never really had a pet of his own until a rescue Sheltie bonded to him and was by his side for the next 13 years. Marv also enjoyed reading in his spare time. Surviving Marv are his wife Nancy and their three children, Linda, Russell (Christine) and Denise along with 4 grandsons, 6 granddaughters and 1 great grandson. The Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 2, 2018 at 6:00pm at St Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Vicksburg, MI. The family will be available from 5:00 to 6:00pm at the church for visitation prior to the mass. A Celebration of Life will be held at Buds Bar in Schoolcraft on Sunday February 4 from 1:00 to 3:00.
