Obituary for Eula Mae Roehm (Griffith)

Roehm, Eula 5/1/1920 - 2/2/2018 Lawton, Michigan Eula (Griffith) Roehm age 97 passed away February 2, 2018 at her residence in White Oaks, Lawton, Michigan. Eula was born in Decatur, Michigan on May 1, 1920; daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Martz) Griffith. Eula graduated from Decatur HS in 1938 and Western Michigan College June 22, 1946. After a thirty-six year teaching career, Eula retired from the Paw Paw Public School District in 1982. Eula was the oldest member of the First Presbyterian Church in Decatur. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary to VFW Celery City Post # 6248 and the Van Buren County Republican Women organization. Eula enjoyed reading and traveling throughout the United States. She married George A. Roehm of Secaucus, NJ on January 27, 1951 in South Bend, Indiana. They were divorced on August 4, 1971. They had two sons, Phillip A. (Kimberle) Roehm and Donald A. (Suzie) Roehm. She was preceded in death by her sister Irene Calbetzor and her son Donald. She is survived by three brothers Melvin, Kenneth, and Orville Griffith, along with son Phillip, four grandsons (Matthew Roehm of Vicksburg, Mark (Kelli) Roehm of Lawton, Travis (Joanne) Roehm of Grand Rapids, and Tyler Roehm of Mannheim, Germany, plus six great-grandchildren (Brendan, Connor, Gavin, Rylie, Brady, and Aiden). Cremation has taken place. Her inurnment will be at Mount Ever Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
