Condolence: What a great friend and co-worker at our post office! I had many good memories of yuking it up with Jack. We enjoyed talking about Detroit sports and politics, which of course means we both had a good sense of humor. He enjoyed being the well known and well liked mailman downtown on the Burdick Mall, even as quiet as he was. I will always remember his well timed remarks followed by a laugh and a smile. Ironically, after not seeing him for years, I bumped into him at the hospital on July 23rd and asked how he was doing. He just said he hasn't been getting out much anymore. It was good to see him with his brother and I was fortunate to be able to say good bye, even if it was for the last time. REST IN PEACE, Jack.

Condolence: I just returned from a week out of state and was shocked and saddened to discover that Jack had passed away. What a great man and good friend to so many people. I worked with Jack for many years and played ball with him in City League Softball. A soft spoken man who never had anything negative to say about anyone, he was the perfect friend and role model for all to admire. We are all the poorer for his loss. We love you Jack, every one of us who knew you, and you WILL be missed. You will be in our hearts always. God Speed my friend.

Condolence: We lost a gem, just a great friend. I worked with Jack almost my entire postal career. We lived only 5-6 miles apart, so we kept in touch after retirement. We would make small bets on golf tournaments, football games, etc. Jack was pretty quiet, but had a great sense of humor. One thing I did find out--don't talk politics. I had a feeling a few months ago he wasn't feeling well, and it's sad to see I was right. I will miss you, old pal. I always enjoyed our visits. -Gary I always looked forward to a phone call just minutes after a major sporting event that Jack and Gary had a $10 bet on, especially if Jack won, such as "Is Tiger there? This is Phil ". after his pick, Mikelson, won over Gary's pick, Tiger. I would always include a line in his Christmas card from us like "Can you see our lights from our house?" And he would email back "Too bright--had to wear sunglasses." We will put up another set of lights for you this year and think of you, dear Jack.
