Michael John Hess, 67, of Marcellus, Michigan, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Michael was born May 20, 1949 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Charles Hess, from Vista, California and Betty Burson, from Schoolcraft, Michigan. After graduating from high school in Schoolcraft, Michigan, Michael was drafted into the United States Army. After serving his country, Michael was self-employed as an owner/operator truck driver and mechanic. He enjoyed auto racing, sports, and having a beer with his friends. Michael was a simple man who would often be found racing or working on cars. He was a loving father and friend to all.
Michael is survived by his son, Gabriel John Hess, of Three Rivers, Michigan, daughter, Suzanne Hess Park, of South Bend, Indiana and ex-wife Kum Wol Hess, of Three Rivers, Michigan. Other members of Michael’s family include siblings, K.C., Marlene, Peggy, and Terry as well as several nieces and nephews. The world lost a father, a brother, and caring friend. Michael’s four legged side-kick, Ally, lost her best friend.
